Nikka Apple BRANDY 30 Y
Specially created in honor of Rita, the Masataka Taketsuru Scottish wife, and to celebrate the 80 years of Nikka Whisky, this Apple Brandy is absolutely unique. It takes us into the past at the beginning of the story of the brand, when in addition to whisky, some apple juices, ciders and spirits distilled from apple were produced.
Rita Apple Brandy 30 years
Named Rita in honour of Masataka Taketsuru’s Scottish wife, this Brandy brings us back to a time when Nikka Whisky was still called “Dai Nippon Kaju” meaning “The Great Japanese Juice Company.”
Rita 30 years Apple Brandy Key Visual
While his first whiskies were still ageing in barrels, Taketsuru sold apple juice and cider to keep his business running. He distilled part of this production, which he also aged in barrels, and so an Apple Brandy saw the day in 1940 alongside the first Nikka whisky.
The Rita 30 years draws its inspiration from this past, and Nikka has dedicated this very special bottling to the extraordinary woman, who left her country to support her husband and help him realize his dream of creating an authentic Japanese whisky.
996 bottles are available in Europe in a wooden gift box.
