Did you know about Clontarf Single Malt Whiskey?

Clontarf is a deceptively distinct single malt that offers more complexity than you might think at first glance. Triple distilled and gently matured in bourbon casks. This gives this elegant Irish whiskey a sharp, grassy maltiness in its aroma. It adds a certain amount of character with just a pinch of salt. After the sharp introduction the experience becomes softer in taste, very malty, sweet, especially a strong vanilla flavor. In its finish, this vanilla flavor slowly sinks away and then gives way to a different arrangement of malt tones. after they completely disappear, it gives a final kick of oak that completely closes the experience. This Irish whiskey has an alcohol percentage of 40%

The number 1014 is chosen because this is the year where King Brian Boru gave his life for victory by the battle in the city of Clontarf against the Vikings.

Clontarf single malt whiskey distilled in the Bushmills distillery and grabs in ex-bourbon casks. 90.5 points in Jim Murray's Whiskey Bible.

Clontarf Town

Clontarf is an old town located on the coast north of Dublin. In this area King Brian Boru in the year 1014 defeated a strong army of Vikings in the famous Battle of Clontarf. Inspired by this legendary victory by Brian Boru, two Irish people, namely Pat Rigney and Dave Phelan, have brought the Clontarf whiskey to the market. Clontarf is now a suburb of the bustling capital city of Dublin. The whiskey's of Clontarf are very well known Irish whiskeys. The purity of the Irish elements can be found in the pure taste full of beautiful aromas. Filtering is unique, letting the distillate seep through Atlantic Irish oak charcoal to filter it.

The higher-lying areas of Ireland are ideal for producing the best grain. The prevailing west wind, the gentle rains and the regular sunshine in combination with the fertile soil, produce such a good usable and pure grain, where all whiskey stokers around the world are jealous. Ireland also has no shortage of rain, this misty kind of rain supplied by the west wind from the Atlantic gives the pure water to which the Clontarf owes its soft taste. Clontarf whiskey is allowed to mature on charcoal-scorched bourbon barrels. The taste of the whiskey is softened by this ripening and therefore gives off the sweetish aromas when tasting. The "marriage" of the ingredients of the old world with the techniques of modern times give their own style to the Clontarf whiskeys. Tradition dictates that only the best grain and the purest Irish spring water may be used during the important distillation process. The ripening is done in bourbon casks from the new world, which give the soft aromas to this Clontarf Irish whiskey.
