maltman andy hart secret speyside
A year ago Andy Hart bottled a barrel "Secret Speyside" from a first fill sherry hogshead. This whiskey became one of the most popular and fastest selling whiskeys of the year.

Now there is a new "Secret Speyside 2007" bottled from a sherry butt, from the same distillery (telling you a secret: it's a Macallan).

And in our opinion even slightly better than the previous one ...

The Maltman and Morrison & Mackay have again bottled beautiful whiskeys.
Andy Hart bottles, along with his father Donald, a few very attractive whiskeys every quarter. Below you will find the "next" Secret Speyside.

And also the new bottlings under the Morrison & Mackay labels Càrn Mòr Strictly Limited and Celebration of the Cask are great.

Now a new Maltman "Secret Speyside 2007" has been bottled from a sherry butt, from the same distillery (that is Macallan we can not really say).

And as far as we are concerned, something even better than the previous one....

Sweet honey with dried orange. Oak wood is the introduction to dark chocolate and clove. And the finish is long and wonderfully warming. Very special.

The Maltman Ardmore 2010 also comes from a sherry barrel. The sherry tones turn into a touch of peat, toffe apple and sweet honey. Then dark chocolate takes over, with pepper and light smoke. Oh so good. And the third new whiskey is the oldest.

The maltman Tomatin 1990 comes from a bourbon hogshead and is a fruit basket full of ripe fruit. Stroopwafels with extra sweet syrup, after which spicy elements take over with pepper, cinnamon and ginger.

Three great affordable whisky’s from the Strictly Limited label

Càrn Mòr Strictly Limited

The Càrn Mòr Strictly Limited Auchroisk 2009 comes from a bourbon hogshead. A fruity nose with strawberries, berries and cherries. Then more vanilla with caramel and cream. A very tasteful and pleasant whiskey.

The Càrn Mòr Strictly Limited Glenturret 2009 is a heavily peated variety, known as Ruadh Mhor. And this barrel was also a former sherry barrel. Light smoke with more salty influences with caramel, mint, passion fruit and polluted grass. On the tongue more Oriental spices and pepper. A tongue stick leads to a long but also refreshing aftertaste.

Very few barrels are available from the Pulteney distillery. A Pulteney 2007 is therefore very special. Exuberant yellow fruit, freshly ironed linen, daisies in bloom (spring) with vanilla and coconut. The fresh aftertaste is becoming more and more spicy.

The superlative of the Càrn Mòr series, Celebration of the Cask

The Celebration of the Cask Glen Grant 1992 is a classic. Earth tones with white and black herbs, juicy oak and strawberry jelly. Oriental spices, caramel and chocolate. Very tasty.

The Celebration of the Cask Ben Nevis 1990 smells like straw and jutte bags. Then red fruit with a hint of smoke and date cake with vanilla cream and caramel. A very satisfying whiskey. The same goes for the Caperdonich 1988. This whiskey from a long-closed distillery comes from a refill sherry hogshead and that has produced a special whiskey. A creamy nose with lemon and lime peels also produces a fruit-flavored taste. A tongue stick is followed by pepper and finally a fresh aftertaste. Very nice.

The Swedish BOX Distillery bottles very special whiskeys

This whiskey BOX Quercus II: Alba first matured for 3 years in former bourbon casks and then switched to new casks of fresh American oak. This has produced soft and very creamy scents with Karamak candy, Werther's Real, milk chocolate and vanilla. All that is laced with honey. Many more herbs follow in the aftertaste.

The very successful Old Perth series has 2 new bottlings

old perth 2004 peaty

First of all there is the 3rd edition of the Old Perth Peaty. Not only a new chimney from the city of Perth on the label, but also a slightly different composition that has resulted in more peat in the nose and on the tongue.

The Old Perth 2004 is a single cask bottling comes from a first fill sherry hogshead. Bottled in a cask strength of 43.8% this has given the scents of an old library, leather, wax, chocolate, currants and raisins and oak. Then mint, cherry jelly and dates emerge, which turns into more spicy influences with a pinch of smoke. Very special.

Unfortunately this whiskey is very limited available, so be quick ...
